Portland, Oregon songwriter Jeffrey Martin has built a quiet reputation as one of folk music’s most unflinching voices. Known for his lyrical depth and plainspoken delivery, Martin writes songs that wrestle with love, loss, and the fragile dignity of everyday life. His latest work continues a career defined by unvarnished honesty, capturing the weight of small moments and the enormity of human connection. Recorded simply and performed with disarming intimacy, Martin’s most recent album, Thank God We Left the Garden, invites listeners into a conversation—raw, searching, and deeply humane—about what it means to live and pay attention in a world that never stops breaking and mending.

Animal Poem is the latest album from songwriter Anna Tivel, recorded live in a circle with close friends to capture the raw immediacy of real-time collaboration. Written on long drives, rooftops, and neighborhood walks, the songs explore themes of mortality, connection, and the search for meaning in uncertain times. Produced with Sam Weber, the record balances intimacy and expansiveness, layering guitar, saxophone, strings, and harmonies over unpolished, deeply human performances. At its core, Animal Poem is a document of listening—an honest attempt to hold beauty, grief, and love within the same unfolding conversation.
