Beginner kizomba Class • 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Party/Social • 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM

🎵 The social will be 60% kizomba/semba/kompa and 40% bachata/salsa

What is Kizomba?

Kizomba means “party,” and it’s one of the fastest-growing partner dances in the world today. Originating in Angola, Africa, Kizomba has taken the world by storm with its smooth flow, deep connection, and strong rhythm. It emerged in the late 1970s and early 1980s as an evolution of semba, a traditional Angolan music and dance genre that also influenced Brazilian samba.

What can I expect?

Our prepared and dedicated instructors leading this one-hour class, will focus on building your confidence and technique. To enhance your learning, we regularly switch partners so you can practice the steps and movements with everyone in the lesson.

Our mission is to create an inclusive and safe community for the authentic expression of African and Latin dances and their cultures. We work to build a space that is exciting, uplifting, and allows everyone to let go of daily stress and meet new people! Dancers of all experience levels and ages are welcome, encouraged, and accepted.
