Acclaimed banjo player Jake Blount with an all-star band featuring George Jackson (Front Country, Peter Rowan), Isa Burke (Lula Wiles) and Nelson Williams (Brother's Bear, James McCann) for a not to be missed show for bluegrass and folk music fans!

An award-winning banjoist, fiddler, singer and ethnomusicologist, Jake Blount is a versatile performer who specializes in the music of Black communities in the southeastern United States and in the regional style of the Finger Lakes. Blount interpolates blues, bluegrass and spirituals into the old-time string band tradition he belongs to, highlighting the experiences of queer people and people of color in his work. Blount is half of the internationally touring duo Tui, a 2020 Stratchmore Artist in Residence and a board member of Bluegrass Pride.

He was taught by some of the most renowned players including Rhiannon Giddens, Bruce Molsky and Judy Hyman and has received the most prestigious awards such as the Steve Martin Banjo Prize and first prize in the Banjo and Traditional Band categories at the Appalachian String Band Music Festival in Clifftop, WV. Academically, Blount has shared his music and research at the Smithsonian Institution, Yale University, and Berklee School of Music, among other venues and institutions.
